Arquitectónica

Christopher (Chris) Fisher’s Arquitectónica series explores the fundamental structural relationship between human and natural environments. Working primarily with oil on canvas and board, Fisher draws from his archaeological fieldwork to distill these connections into visual shorthand. His compositions are influenced by geometric shapes from ancient architecture, cultural symbols, geological patterns, and ceremonial traditions. Through his work, ancient ceramics serve as metaphors for the landscape, while architectural forms act as proxies for long-lost societies. A central focus of Arquitectónica is the interplay of light and shadow within and around ancient structures, investigating how ritual landscapes shape human experience. Each piece is framed with custom-crafted hardwoods such as walnut and cherry, with inset splines designed by the artist himself. With vibrant color palettes and stylized geometry, Fisher’s Arquitectónica series seeks to bridge the past and present, creating an imagined utopian landscape that invites reflection on history, culture, and the human connection to space.
