Illumination

In his Illumination series, Christopher (Chris) Fisher seeks to forge a physical bridge between the spiritual past and the present. Using gold, silver, and brass leaf alongside oils on materials such as tin, hammered tin, canvas, and board, Fisher draws from Mesoamerican foundations, motifs, and architectural elements to explore the deep connection between past and future landscapes. Influenced by Mexican modernism, particularly the spatial works of Luis Barragán and the sculptures of Mathias Goeritz, Fisher’s pieces transcend temporal and spatial boundaries. The Illumination series represents a contemplative journey, blurring the dimensions of time and space to evoke a sense of spiritual continuity.
